As a socially-conscious and responsible organization, Caparo takes its responsibility of creating an environment of inclusive growth in the society seriously.

While profits are the primary motive of our businesses, ultimately it is our duty to ensure that we carry the greater community along with us on our path to success. Therefore, our CSR activities are built into our business model as an integral component of our long-term strategy for sustainable development.

CSR ACTIVITIES

Our commitment to our CSR activities are manifested through our determination to improve the quality of life of the underprivileged sections of society by collaborating with notable organizations that work for the upliftment of the poor. Our CSR activities through Ambika Paul Foundation, UK and the Group Companies having operations in India encompass education, healthcare, social empowerment and infrastructure development. Some of our CSR initiatives are:

Environment Care

Environment Care

Caparo is deeply committed to protecting the environment by reducing our carbon footprint, employing sustainable practices to reduce wastage and replenish natural resources, and sensitizing our people towards environmental issues through activities such as reforestation (tree planting) drives and environment management workshops.

We have the best technologies and processes in place at all our manufacturing plants to ensure reduced dependence on non-renewable resources, keeping pilferage and emissions within permissible limits, and creating a safe and healthy environment not only for our employees but also the indigenous community living in the vicinity of our plants.

Health Camps

Caparo collaborated with Smile Foundation, a leading NGO, to organize health camps in the remote villages around its manufacturing units to provide primary health care services, promote community health and increase the accessibility of healthcare services to the underprivileged and economically weaker sections of the society. In 2018, in association with Smile Foundation, Caparo organized 12 health camps in 12 villages around the Bawal Industrial Area wherein 2510 persons benefited from the programme.

Caparo organizes regular Blood Donation Camps at its various manufacturing units with support from The Red Cross Society.

Mid-day Meal

Caparo joined hands with Akshaynidhi Foundation (an arm of Akshaya Patra Foundation) and SNJJ School, Rewari to provide mid-day meals to around 125 underprivileged children in Rewari, Haryana. SNJJ School helps these underprivileged children in the slum areas by providing basic education to cultivate social, cultural, behavioural, and economic changes in them. The mid-day meal supported by Caparo ensures that these children do not suffer from malnutrition.

Support Infrastructure Facilities in Educational Institutions

Initiatives taken to provide infrastructure facilities and amenities to the schools in Government and Private sectors to help the Clean India Initiative of the Government. We have identified and supported a few schools that require development of their Infrastructure facilities such as construction of washroom facilities inside the school premises.

Ambika Paul Foundation

The Ambika Paul Foundation was set up in the memory of late Ambika Paul, Lord Paul's daughter, who sadly lost her battle with Leukaemia in 1968. The Foundation, promotes the well-being of children around the world through education, culture and health, and seeks to encourage and inspire them to learn about the world they live in.

In the UK, besides supporting a number of children’s charities, the Foundation has made a substantial contribution to the Zoological Society of London, which used that donation for the rebuilding of the London Children’s Zoo in her name.

In the United States, the Foundation supports the Ambika Paul Infant Lab Suite at Carnegie Mellon, where research teams are working to understand infant development so that children with developmental disabilities such as autism and specific language impairment can be helped.

In India, some of the notable projects of the Foundation include the Mongwati Sports Stadium, Charkhi, the Ambika Paul School of Technology, Jalandhar, and a state-of-the-art auditorium at Apeejay School of Management, Delhi. The Foundation also supports a number of trusts and charitable institutions in India that works with young people and has been a regular donator to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Caparo Education Foundation

Caparo Education Foundation, a non-profit organization set up under Section 25 of Companies Act, 1095 ( now Section 8 of 2013) to carryout charitable educational activities. The Foundation is supported by Ambika Paul Foundation, UK
