Caparo MI Steel Processing Ltd. (CMI) was incorporated in January 2007 as a 70:30 joint venture between Caparo Engineering India Ltd (CEIL) and Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc (MISI), Japan to manufacture Tailor Welded Blanks (TWBs).
The company started commercial production of TWBs in March 2008 with its major customer being MSIL. CMI produces jig-less, multipurpose type TWBs, offering a secure welding process, secure quality assurance, space-saving design, and quick launch. CMI’s plant at Bawal is ISO/TS 16949 certified.
